Custom-Built Cabins Designed for Comfort, Privacy, and Nature
Our cabins were designed from scratch — custom-built on permanent foundations, finished to a standard you’d expect from a boutique hotel, and sized generously enough that up to six people can share one without ever feeling cramped. At 942 square feet of interior space plus an 87 square foot covered patio, these are real buildings with real character.
The front of every cabin is floor-to-ceiling glass — so whether you’re facing the lake or the forest, your view is never far away. Sliding glass doors open the living space to the covered patio, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor flow when the Texas weather cooperates. And with extended privacy walls on either side, your sightlines are focused entirely on your own corner of the property.
Inside Your Cabin
The Main Floor
Step inside and you’ll find a thoughtfully laid out main floor with a full living area, a dining set for four, and a kitchen that’s actually equipped to cook in — full-size refrigerator with freezer, cooktop, dishwasher, and a microwave with exterior ventilation. Custom cabinetry, open shelving, and quality finishes throughout make it feel far from a typical vacation rental. The main bedroom features a king-size bed, and a private bunk room gives the kids their own dedicated space. Metal light switch plates, dimmer switches, electronic blinds — every detail has been considered.
The Loft
A ship’s ladder staircase leads up to the loft — 274 square feet of additional living space with two more beds, a TV, and a skylit open area that’s perfect for kids to spread out and play. The loft is fully carpeted, open to the main floor below, and bright with natural light from the skylight above. Parents can keep an eye on the kids from downstairs; kids feel like they have their own private floor.

Five of our cabins sit directly on the edge of the 3-acre lake. Look out through your floor-to-ceiling glass and the water is right there — close enough to feel like it’s yours. Step onto your covered patio and you’re looking at the lake, the beach, and the soft Texas sky beyond it. These are the cabins that book first, and it’s easy to understand why.
Nature Retreat Cabins
The rest of our cabins are nestled into private pockets of native oak forest — and in some ways, they offer something even more rare than a water view: complete solitude. No neighbors in your sightline, no noise, just ancient trees, birdsong, and the feeling of being genuinely away from everything. These cabins appeal to guests who came to truly decompress, and more than a few guests will tell you they’d choose a nature retreat cabin over a lakefront view on a return trip.
Every Cabin Has Its Own Backyard Story
No two cabins at Lost Lake have the same outdoor experience. Each one has been individually designed around what the landscape behind it naturally offers. Some have a private fire pit and Adirondack chairs under a canopy of oaks. Some have a hammock strung between two century-old trees. Some have a spa. Some have Italian rope lights woven through the branches overhead, casting a warm glow after dark. A few have all of the above.
An exterior light switch inside your cabin controls all outdoor lighting on a dimmer — so whether you want a bright evening gathering space or a soft, atmospheric glow, it’s one click away. Select cabins are also equipped with EV charging, with more being added as demand grows.
